Imperial Bedroom with Elvis Costello

Costello's most acclaimed album from 1982, emotionally a bit deeper and darker than the six before, void of the very catchiest pop singles he spitted out so freneticly in the latest 70's. Still these actual "classical" arrangements, based on piano rather than guitars, makes some pieces sound the most happily expansive Elvis ever has done, even when his voice is bitter.

Produced by Geoff Emerick, who had a hand in Beatles' post-Pepper records. Cover picture is playing with Picasso's "three musicians", which may represent the band members = The Attractions.
