Back Home Again with John Denver

Never really heard Denver before. Not even Annie's Song I believe I've heard in his very own version.

This seems strange, since John makes folk songs in the close to canadian style of Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell (in her less complex moments), Joan Baez and more which I love. Even Billy Joel is not far away, almost same voice and melody lines, even if different genres. The same can almost be said for Elton John, who's face reminds me John Denver's.

Yes, now I try with these nice glimpses of Denver's most wellknown album from 1974. Maybe I'm not swallowing his whole ecological package of limitless kindness - or what it is? Anyway all the harmonical tunes undoubtly sounds good, both his own compositions and others.

Some of the family stories on the A-side would've better being on the B-side too, to balance the latter's "song of praise"-nature.

most Amusing song: GRANDMA'S FEATHER BED

most Beautiful song: ANNIE'S SONG

most Sexy song: COOL AN' GREEN AN' SHADY

most Smart song: ON THE ROAD (we didn't know...)

most Strange song: THE MUSIC IS YOU

most growing Strong song: SWEET SURRENDER

most Loving song: MATTHEW (an uncle)
