Labour of Lust with Nick Lowe

eLe

his second main album made 1979.
During the first side, I can't really feel Lowe's high five-star quality. Except in the excellent piece "Cruel to be kind" of course! But then through the B-side he begins again to making melodies which rocks so fine, funny and cool as ever.

On Nick's first record Jesus of Cool I believe the punkish elements makes more sense. Well, surely I need more time to grasp this unique craftmanship - my opinions about his music (including the time it was a part of) have changed many times.

Obviously my favourites on L o L Lowe co-composed with Ian Gomm and more. His Rockpile-companion Dave Edmunds seems even more worth discovering...

most Amusing song: SWITCHBOARD SUSAN

most Beautiful song: SKIN DEEP

most Sexy song: LOVE SO FINE

most Smart song: DOSE OF YOU

most Strange song: BIG KICK, PLAIN SCRAP

most growing Strong song: CRUEL TO BE KIND
