The Final Countdown 'n Out of This World with Europe
Both their albums of the late 80's were almost impossible to miss. The band from my home country went out to the world, possibly all the way to Venus and/or Mars. And maybe now(?) when we finally have counted down to zero(?) we are going out of this world (?) and into some other world(?).
Anyway, completing what I wasn't able to hear then... finally repeating these soft metal tracks, syntesized by Michaeli, made by Tempest. It really became a public pop combination, a solution to the polarisation between hard guitar groups and synthpopish schlagers.
Realise now Out of This World (-88) has stronger melodies and less empty space passages, though I never owned nor listened to it as much as The Final Countdown (-86) whose three first breakthrough tracks seemed enough for making a completely historic record. But if Europe would've waited two years, then melting half of each album into one - it should have been among our world's 100 greatest. Yet it probably would've been to late by then - to press the most successful keys on the universal keyboard...
