Killing Me Softly with Roberta Flack

Roberta is still unknown to me, but her 1973 album I've returned to. It's is a pearl of fine jazz-soul songs, of quite different kinds though all fit her well. Similar singers: Nina Simone, Joni Mithcell, Dionne Warwick. And Lill Lindfors' swedish version of the mystic title track, also made -73, was my first meeting with that intriguing lyrics.

most Loving song: JESSE [Janis Ian]

most growing Strong song: CONVERSATION LOVE [Plumeri, Seighman]

most Strange song: KILLING ME SOFTLY WITH HIS SONGS [Fox, Gimbel]

most Smart song: SUZANNE [Leonard Cohen]

most Sexy song: NO TEARS IN THE END [McDonald, Salter]

most Beautiful song: I'M THE GIRL [Shelton, Shelton]

most Amusing song: WHEN YOU SMILE [McDonald, Salter]

Overall Album
