Beyond the Hill with Mia Martini

OLTRE LA COLLINA con Mia Martini

Since I visited Italy seven years ago for my first time
I've returned to early records she sings
This is her debut album from 1971
in fields sounding somewhere between Dusty Springfield, Jesus Christ Superstar and (a little later) Frida in ABBA or maybe Baccara.

Martini may not have the most sweet or strong voice
but anyway she brings spirit and mystery
to every kind of 70's music so tastefully arranged

most Loving song:
TESORO MA È VERO
[Piero Pintucci, Antonello De Sanctis]

most growing Strong song:

GESÙ È MIO FRATELLO
[Coggio, Baglioni, Oremus]

most Strange song:
PADRE DAVVERO
[Piero Pintucci, Antonello De Sanctis]

most Smart song:
TESTAMENTO (AU VOLEUR)
[Matalon, Musy, italian lyrics by Baglioni]

most Sexy song:
AMORE... AMORE... UN CORNO!
[Coggio, Baglioni]

most Beautiful song:
LA VERGINE E IL MARE
[Matalon, Musy, italian lyrics by De Sanctis]

most Amusing song:
NEL ROSA (INTO WHITE)
[Cat Stevens with italian lyrics by M.Martini]
