The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway with GENESIS

The Who made two rock operas [double concept albums]. Genesis made at least one, in 1974 by their supposed top. I try to realise the greatness of this big effort, but I would emotionally put their very top three years after [just before "And Then There Where Three"]. That would be when Phil Collins had established his role as "captain", some years before they went pop instead of progressive. Even though Peter Gabriel still was "captain" of this british and quite psychedelic portrait of Broadway, also the material is created by the other four (Banks, Hackett, Collins and Rutherford). I adore the end of first album and the beginning of second album much more than the rest, so for my ears they wouldn't have had to make a double.

most Amusing song: CARPET CRAWLERS (gotta get IN to get OUT)

most Beautiful song: THE LAMIA

most Sexy song: LILYWHITE LILITH

most Smart song: THE GRAND PARADE OF LIFELESS PACKAGING
[co-composed by Brian Eno]

most Strange song: THE WAITING ROOM

most growing Strong song: THE CHAMBER OF 32 DOORS

most Loving song: HAIRLESS HEART
