Czech World Searching (?) with Blue Effect
album SVET HLEDACU
[including some kind of apostrophes I don't find]
released 1979
by by then czechoslovakian band Blue Effect [Modrý Efekt]

The pieces are progressive rock
thereby processing many themes...
The three pieces I so far find most spiritually upliftning, containing both beautiful and exciting moments are:

[composed by Lesek Semelka, one of the keyboardists]

Strange Days with The Doors
Didn't thought I was going to open The Doors again. They never broke through to my full appreciation, but now it seems they do?! (not only the winding organ of Manzarek). Even if publically overshadowed by their first mythical masterpiece, this second album I think feels more spiritually uplifting.

Where Do We Begin with Made in Sweden
Made in Sweden obviously was a band made in Sweden, who made this
progressive jazz album 1976. They seem to be quite forgotten, though at
least Körberg and Wadenius became well-known performers of music.

Long Wave with Jeff Lynne
Not until now Lynne's second solo album ever is made. ELO was not only about Beatles, and Long Wave is less about Beatles, rather before. As always lingered in his air but never bloomed completely, Lynne now covers 1950's songs in his very own way. New wave may have been catchier, but seldom something feels as lovely as this old wave.

Drums And Wires with XTC
a perfect capture of the 1979 glimpse of new wave
though I feel XTC could have cut some numbers from this record. Each track is extremely creative, but together they becomes too much information if you listen through whole album. Especially since this band makes no ballad melodies to land upon for a while... the helicopter spins and spins in every kind of rhytm.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway with GENESIS
The Who made two rock operas [double concept albums]. Genesis made at least one, in 1974 by their supposed top. I try to realise the greatness of this big effort, but I would emotionally put their very top three years after [just before "And Then There Where Three"]. That would be when Phil Collins had established his role as "captain", some years before they went pop instead of progressive. Even though Peter Gabriel still was "captain" of this british and quite psychedelic portrait of Broadway, also the material is created by the other four (Banks, Hackett, Collins and Rutherford). I adore the end of first album and the beginning of second album much more than the rest, so for my ears they wouldn't have had to make a double.

Ringo with Ringo Starr
Ringo was often made some kind of main star (or main clown) in the Beatles movies, but seldom on their music stage. Three years after Beatles broke up though, Ringo got an own album where he writes as much material as every former companion gives him. The whole pie sounds very good, pleasant, surprising, lazy, maybe a bit satirical but funny and full of love.

FATS DOMINO !!!!
King of New Orleans Rock'n'Roll is pianoplayer Fats Domino, but also the name of a box, a box with four CD's of this Antoine "Fats" Domino.
Every piece is made in the early-middle side of the 50's, when boogie woogie was big. (And I've also realised they work good to do burlesque dance moves to.)
Among the 86 collected bricks, here's the 24 dominoes which I find most nice and get very happy to hear:
most BABY dominoes
1. LITTLE BEE
2. BOOGIE WOOGIE BABY
3. (BABY,) WHEN I SEE YOU
4. THE ROOSTER SONG (AIN'T THAT A SHAME)
(not to be confused with the song with that title)
5. THE BIG BEAT
6. LITTLE SCHOOL GIRL
most BLUE dominoes
7. MY BLUE HEAVEN
8. BLUE MONDAY
9. IF YOU NEED ME
10. CARELESS LOVE
11. BLUEBERRY HILL
12. WHAT'S THE REASON I'M NOT PLEASIN' YOU
most FAT dominoes
13. THE FAT MAN
14. HEY! FAT MAN
15. DON'T BLAME IT ON ME
16. DON'T YOU KNOW? (EVERY DAY I LOVE YOU MORE)
17. HEY! LA BAS BOOGIE
18. THE FAT MAN'S HOP
most BY BYE dominoes
19. AS TIME GOES BY
20. SECOND LINE JUMP
21. I'M WALKING
22. MARDI GRASS IN NEW ORLEANS
23. (ROSALIE,) I CAN'T GO ON
24. WHEN MY DREAMBOAT COMES HOME
Furthermore realise that not just Beatles [McCartney] made some Fats-inspired things. Other way around Domino himself covered some Beatles, like LADY MADONNA, LOVELY RITA and Everybody's got Something to Hide Except for Me And my Monkey, in contemporary years.
This I think is twice as nice as the original:
Domino makes Beatles
much also depening on the female soul choir

An innocent Man with Billy Joel
made in 1983, but Billy don't seem to be compromising with the contemporary pop climate, just using it well. Joel still gets good focus on his soul rock with Big Apple background, here a bit closer to Motown, balancing the ballads with doo-wop instead of spaghetti country.

A Black Box by Peter Hammill
After his eighth solo album pH 7 (one of P.H.'s more aggressive) Peter returns to something more contemplative in 1980
using synth sounds 'n claviatures more frequent as a wall-to-wall carpet than he peppered pH 7 with. However it's clear to me Hammill is an organist rather than a guitar man.
