Spiritual Songs with SPRINGFIELD keep Revolving

Spring gets closer, but Dusty Springfield is already close to my ears. Here's her songs which I heard the most times, or returned to most often during life.

Dusty's last comeback "Reputation" was released when I was a teenager. But one of the very first pieces for grown-ups that I ever listened to, "You don't have to say you love me", frightened me a bit as a four year old boy. Well, almost everything she's sung is more cheerful than that, and contains less heavy, haunting orchestra. Anyhow it became her greatest hit, strangely enough composed by italian(?) persons, who never continued to fill her table like Bacharach, Goffin & King did.

Main part of these pieces are made 1966-73. Later it gets pretty hard to find pure sunlight, but there are some glimpses on every album you possibly could choose. All comes down to the fact that Dusty worked with several of the best songwriters in the world. Yet I don't prefer her versions in many cases, especially those early where girls groups and motown artists have made them more soulful.

My most intense Springfield-period turned up in summer of 2003 (inspired by a fiend and singer Iris). And still many are left to discover... In big lines this list mirrors how good I believe the songs are.
