English Dream of Cloudy Gold

Based on my Swedish Ground

slightly remade, consciously sharpened
and mixed from two recent snooze dreams

Sitting a strange sunday
morning outside an extremely familiar
door which we used to just
open, while write my latest update:

"First time ever here in Liverpool
waiting for someone to recognize me
and feel this summer die.
Anyhow I like
the golden darkness coming more
and more early..."

Almost remember I must have forgot
my glasses in another August
but then realise this scene takes place before
I even needed glasses.

Well, time for a pee,
so I go inside
someone's van
parked on the street down to our endless library.

Behind these magic windows
like an inverted prison cell
no one seems able to see me,
not even the whole class of 88 C
which I never socialized with
but still know every face among.

However now
we're appearantly in this cockpit, a little bit over
three golden clouds.
They assert
I will easily land on those
clouds if I only
JUMP,
well, jump in the right moment
and the right moment of course is
NOW...

...but as always
my feet doubt their voices
since they come from our ship computer,
not from actual clouds. How many
tons of gold
lies hidden within?

Without parachute
and with my legs more heavy than our whole heaven
my american friends anyway
recommend a russian technique
to focus
on
a special glimpse of sun
to get the whole goldmine
open
it's labyrinth,
it's million wings
immediately here for my heart in the air

"Third time over Tokyo
falling for someone to recollect me
like feeling her autumn being born.
And this time
I'm really not
afraid anymore?!"

It's just that I want so badly to stay
in this egg
even if i crashes
in this belly
even if my fuel
has grown completely incompatible
with your world
with our bird
this cockpit has become
my life.

Monkey Heads Talking Naked

my Summer Album 13 : 14

NAKED
with Talking Heads 1988

which could as well been called MONKEY, based on the themes and cover frame

My favourite is FLOWERS with it's "reversed" perspective. Someone memorizes the golden days when there were factories, supermarkets and machines everywhere - before flowers and trees took over the whole city. Even if ironic, this missing of such human culture could be true as hell = if the green really had grown as totally unbalanced as the worst kind of concrete jungle.

most Beautiful song: RUBY DEAR

most Sexy song: TOTALLY NUDE

most Loving song: MOMMY DADDY YOU AND I

Lucky Lovich (one but not alone)

Lene Lovich is a new fantastic discovery for me!

my Summer Song # 1301

LUCKY NUMBER

with Lene Lovich
by Les Chappell and Lene Lovich

from Stateless 1979

Lovich in Live Version
not including every record sound, but give a good impression

interesting instrument : except her voice sometimes used like a bird, as well as different kind of drum beats and synth sounds flying by, I like most the piano in the unbeatable intro

main emotion : sharp but cozy craziness, with a happy touch of irony

lyrics line lingering : "This rearrangement suits me now I must confess // the number one was dull but number two is best"

similar songmakers : Kate Bush, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Nina Hagen, some Patti Smith, and even if not her intention I can hear alot of SPARKS too.

form of field : Seems completely unique, though realise many sounded like her on the border between 70's to 80's. Kinda punk with a nice girlishness dressed in gothic overtones...

role on record : THIRD, which frustrates me a bit :-) since the lyrics is about how Lovich loves number one and then number two, but never gets to number three...

my private picture : a girl sitting alone in a big candy store, tasting every bit shaped like either "0" or "1", and then getting company from a boy doing same procedure synchronically with her

Rhythm of YES

my Summer Song # 1300

RHYTHM OF LOVE
with Yes

by Jon Anderson, Tony Kaye, Trevor Rabin,
Chris Squire and Alan White

from album BIG GENERATOR, 1987

interesting instrument : except the magic chorus, I must pick the "full orchestra" synth sound so popular in late 80's, suddenly crashing in among all the super sharp guitars

main emotion : spiritually confident happiness

lyrics line lingering : "Why should I escort you /to your secret needs? Climbing up your ladder /I keep falling down"

similar song : someone with Queen from "The Miracle", maybe a slower cousin to Breakthru

form of field : synth rock, more pop:ish than Yes ever has been. Well, in my ears they handle the genre as good and creative as any progressive anthems Jon ever has made.

role on record : FIRST and by no doubt the album's BEST. Fantastic piece on what allmusic gives only two stars [but OK, maybe just this song and number five shines much stronger than so].

my private picture : a mountain cliff full of towers, each shouting through it's windows, then begin to behave like birds, every tower flying up to the sun.

Cosmos of Cosma, who made Chateauvallon a Real Dream

Realise finally now
that it's Vladimir Cosma
a romanian born composer
who has made many french motives
among which I've loved
two or maybe more
for a long long time
since middle 80's these:

REALITY Video Remade Dream

REALITY Original Sanderson Dream of LA BOUM

Chateauvallon instrumental melody

Chateauvallon with sungen voice

So now it's just to discover more Cosma movie compositions
hopefully from some Record, though here's a sample mix
of some other sides of his music:

Cosma's more comic Cosmos

Seconds of Pleasure [Expanded again] with Rockpile

Finally in 1980, the fundament of Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe released a full record under their identity Rockpile.

I've reviewed it almost a year ago, but still becomes more and more appearant how good rock'n'roll this really is!

Here Rockpile also includes Billy Bremner, who seems to me now a finer singer than both Edmunds and Lowe were then.

my Summer Album 13 : 11

by Lowe

most Beautiful song:
